  2. Global Dialogue on the New Trend (Knowledge and Politics): The ideas given below may be considered to develop the focus and the spread of this on-line global dialogue.
    • Knowledge : With Artificial Intelligence (AI) the world of knowledge is disturbed in an entirely new way. We had argued earlier that with the rise of internet-www, knowledge management and social media, the communication and organization of knowledge had taken over the place of ‘content’ in science. It was accompanied by sacrificing ‘truth’ at the alter of the market and the emergence of the idea of post-truth. With the rise of AI new ways of production of knowledge (doing science) seem to have appeared. Lokavidya perspective needs to develop further to take a view of these developments. Intuitively it appears that working out a sufficiently inclusive idea of Multiple Knowledge Traditions and Bauddhik Satyagraha may steer our way to greater clarity.
    • Politics : Multipolar World, Civilizational State, Sovereignty, Plurinational State, Buen Vivir, Rights of Mother Earth, Rights of Nature, Marcosur (South America), Mandal (SE Asia), variety of local organisational forms in Africa, local alliances for order and stability, the concept of local order in complex systems (Ilya Prigogine), Food Sovereignty are the new ideas in the global political debate. Can we enter this debate with the ideas of Lokavidya, Bahujan, Swaraj, Autonomy, Ordinary Life, Panchayat, Multiple Knowledge Traditions and Bauddhik Satyagraha.

    1. Opening Remarks by the Chair: In his opening remarks Sunil Sahasrabudhey highlighted the close relation which we as thinkers and activists have had with Farmers’ Movement and and the fact that this shaped our thought around notions of Lokavidya and Ordinary Life. He briefly traced the progress of Vidya Ashram thought to our more recent engagement with related notions of Swaraj, Panchayat and Bahujan and their coming together in the program of Bahujan Swaraj Panchayat. Another important addition to our thought in relation to how we conceive a social transformation is that of Kala Marg of social resurgence. He also said that the organizational changes contemplated are expected to bring in freshness.
    2. Program for the next year/three years: The draft of Program of Vidya Ashram over the next three years was discussed earlier by the Executive Committee held on 11 March 2026. Girish Sahasrabudhe spoke of the meaning of the context of Lokasmriti, Bahujan Swaraj and Bahujan narrative for the Bahujan Gyan Vimarsh and Bahujan Gyan Samvad activities in the Bahujan Shodh initiated at Varanasi. The Bahujan Swaraj Panchayat program initiated in October 2025 occupies a significant part of the future activities at all levels. This program recognizes and includes Kala Marg in terms of its conception of social transformation. The Program lays stress on developing knowledge dialogue in as many regional languages as possible, as well as to take it to the educated sections. AI technologies and the developing multipolar world situation has generated a global debate around knowledge and politics. A major part of the Program is to undertake to intervene in this debate with Vidya Ashram thought and a perspective of Swaraj at the initiative of the Bahujan Samaj.

    1. Discussion on the present situation of the nation and the world: Talking about the present situation Krishnarajulu discussed the concerted effort led by the USA to sustain the capitalist market system and control of the market and resources by the USA, Russia and China. He expressed concern about the absence of dialogue and stressed the importance of our programs to start a dialogue within and with Bahujan Samaj. He said that Bahujan Samaj needs to grasp the dehumanization wrought upon the society, and to look for local ways out of this. Suresh said that the it is very difficult to make categorical judgements about what might be the shape of things tomorrow. But, the possibility of a tacit sanction by the West to killing of a very large number of people in such wars is more real than ever. He stressed the need to keep watching the events both at international and the national level trying to understand the relation of Indian elite with the Western one, the worsening condition of Bahujan Samaj caused by short-sighted diplomatic policy over the last decade and to work out how one may talk to and work with the Bahujan Samaj. Sunil said that if we admit to the centrality of the capitalist market system, then it is appropriate to add ‘local market’ as a point of dialogue in our campaigns to lokavidya, bahujan, swaraj, panchayat, ordinary life, etc. It seems that a pervasive global aspiration is a part of all the dominant worldviews today, and it seems to be not absent even in Islamic worldview as it is today. As against that the global debate caused by the breakdown we witness has admitted many ideas like Mandal, plurinational state, rights of nature, etc. The debate has enough crevices for us to get in with our ideas of swaraj, bahujan, autonomy, panchayat, ordinary life and so on. Girish concluded by saying that though the situation is amorphous, and the future difficult to guess about, the uncertainty about persistence of the unipolar order itself is an important thing and should give us an opportunity to take our ideas into the global debate.
    2. Any other matter: Naresh introduced the following motion, which was adopted unanimously.
      • Resolution No 5:
        • Vidya Ashram Trust expresses its deep and sincere gratitude to outgoing office bearers President Shri Sunil Sahasrabudhey, Coordinator Dr. Chitra Sahasrabudhey, and Treasurer Smt. Premlata Singh, and to all the Members of the Executive Committee.
        • In the journey of Vidya Ashram so far, among the many individuals who have contributed to it, the names Shri Sunil Sahasrabudhey and Dr. Chitra Sahasrabudhey stand out by far. From its very inception to the present day, they have dedicated their lives to the Vidya Ashram, played a leading role in all its activities, and provided visionary intellectual leadership. Needless to say that their invaluable contribution will continue in the times to come. For this, the Vidya Ashram Trust remains deeply grateful to Shri Sunil Sahasrabudhey and Dr. Chitra Sahasrabudhey.

The Meeting concluded with a vote of thanks.
