
Dilip Kumar is a perpetual rebel stationed at the Ashram, now in his early 40s, is a member of the Ashram Samiti and a member of the Executive Committee. A poet and a philosopher Dilip Kumar stands steadfast with the oppressed without compromise in word or in deed .
Since his student days in Banaras Hindu University Dilip Kumar has been associated with radical formation like Gatividhi Vichar Manch , Samajwadi Jan Parishad and the Congresses on Traditional Sciences and Technologies of India. As a parivrajak for years he has travelled through the villages and forests of Uttar Pradesh , Madhya Pradesh , Maharashtra, Bihar, Assam and Nepal, meeting people , living with them and dialoguing with them. He ran a school for the poor near his village named Shahid Bhagat Singh School. His village is about 10 kms from Sarnath and on the bank of the river Ganga . Dilip also has roots in the sant parampara . He is also a member of a people based ashram called Kachcha Baba’s Ashram with branches in eastern Uttar Pradesh and adjacent areas of Bihar . He knows how to dialogue with people from a wide variety, sanatan to aghor panthy . These dialogues for him are characteristically the places where contemporary political radicalism needs to engage with selfless radical thought .
Dilip Kumar has been an important organizer of various activities of the Ashram like Knowledge Dialogue, Bhaichara Vidyalaya , Kala Sadhana and Chintan Dhaba (Thinkers’café) .
